What is the ACA ?

What is Marketplace Insurance?

The ACA or Affordable Care Act is the health care reform law enacted in March 2010 designed to make healthcare and Health insurance more affordable.

The law has three main functions:
  • Make affordable health insurance available to more people. The law provides people with subsidies (“premium tax credits”) that lower costs for households with incomes between 100% and 400% of the (FPL) Federal Poverty Level.
  • Expand the Medicaid program to cover all adults with income below 138% of the FPL , but not every state have participated in the Medicaid expansion.
  • Support different medical care delivery methods designed to lower the costs of health care .
